Lima & Cusco, Peru

“Cusco is a city of extremes. At 11,000 feet, the nights drop to 30 degrees and the days climb to 75. It becomes instantly frigid when the sun´s covered with the clouds, but when uncovered every photon finds its mark. La Plaza de Armas, the main plaza, is overshadowed by Spanish colonial churches, majestic and full of history but also grim reminders of the atrocities committed by los conquistadores[....]Some kids go to school in uniforms, carrying dioramas and walking with their parents; others go with shirts and faces splotched with dirt, searching for change in phone booths along the way.”
