Perito Moreno Glacier - August 2009

“Despite the cold–and the expense of booking a flight and a tour–stomping across a glacier that’s slowly moved down the mountain over hundreds of years was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. For ninety minutes we climbed up and down the giant ice sheet, around giant crevices emanating an eerie blue glow, small crystal-clear ponds, towers of ice collapsed against each other like dominoes.”
